BICSE Letter Report on Evaluating the Effects of TIMSS (2000)

Summary: The Board on International Comparative Studies in Education (BISCE) was established in 1988 to advise the National Science Foundation the conduct of the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and other international comparative studies of education. This letter report advises that there be an evaluation undertaken of the effects of TIMMS on educational practice, as well as the process by which TIMSS was being used to bring about change in the United States.
